Hawaii is a premier tourist destination in the United States. Its rich culture and beautiful sites attract tourists from all over the world. If you have plans of traveling here, one place you shouldn’t miss is Waimanalo Beach.

Waimanalo Beach is a small coastal town located in Honolulu, Hawaii. It lies along the eastern half of Waimanalo Beach (the town has the same name with the beach). In Hawaiian, the word “Waimanalo” means “protected precious waters“. Actually, Waimanalo Beach is considered as a nautical town because parts of it are on the ocean or touch tidal bodies of water such as inlets and tidal rivers. The town has a total area of 3.0 square miles and 45.56 percent of that is water.

Based on the 2000 U.S. Census, the town had a total population of 4,271. People who live in Waimanalo Beach come from different races and ancestries. The most prevalent race is Pacific Islander and Native Hawaiian. The most common language is English but some people also speak other Pacific Island languages.
As of 2000, the town had a per capita income of $16,089. Common occupations of residents are a combination of white- and blue-collar jobs. A large percentage of people living in Waimanalo Beach work in office and administrative support jobs.

The town of Waimanalo Beach is close to the city of Waimanalo.

Waimanalo Beach Park is a 75 acre park situated at Waimanalo Beach. Waimanalo Beach is one of the most beautiful and longest white sand beaches on the island of Oahu in Hawaii.

With its close proximity to Honolulu, Kailua and Kaneohe, Waimanalo Beach Park is one of the most popular family beach parks in Oahu. The waters here are designated as a Class A Zone, which means that the waters are of good quality and contain no dangerous hazards.

The beach is excellent for bodysurfing, fishing, swimming, beachcombing, bodyboarding and other fun activities. There are also a number of sites for camping and shady areas for picnicking. Facilities at the park include phones, restrooms, showers, picnic tables and parking. Lifeguards are also on duty everyday until 5 o’clock in the evening.

The park is just a short distance from hotels. So, if you want a quiet place with a magnificent scenery, you can always visit Waimanalo Beach Park. Before going in the water, however, check first if there are Portuguese man-of-war (a kind of stinging jellyfish) in the water. Also, closely monitor water conditions and obey all postings and warning signs. Those who will go camping should have a permit.

Lyrics

Wind’s gonna blow so I’m gonna go
Down on the road again
Starting where the mountains Ieft me
I’m up where I beganWhere I will go the wind only knows
Good times around the bend
Get in my car, goin’ too far
Never comin’ back again

Tired and worn I woke up this mornin’
Found that I was confused
Spun right around and found I had lost
The things that I couldn’t lose

CHORUS:
The beaches they sell to build their hotels
My fathers and I once knew
Birds all along sunlight at dawn
Singing Waimanalo blues

Down on the road with mountains so old
Far on the country side
Birds on the wing forget in a while
So I’m headed for the windward side

AU of your dreams
Sometimes it just seems
That I’m just along for the ride
Some they will cry because they have pride
For someone who’s loved here died

The beaches they sell to build their hotels
My fathers and I once knew
Birds all along sunlight at dawn
Singing Waimanalo blues

The island of Oahu is the third largest island in the state of Hawaii. Oahu has long been known as “The Gathering Place” for two main reasons. First, Oahu is the most populous island in Hawaii. Second, it has the most visitors of any island. About 4.5 million people visit the island each year. Visitors from around the world travel to Oahu to enjoy and experience its rich culture and history, as well as its natural beauty.

The U.S.S. Arizona Memorial, the Polynesian Cultural Center, Honolulu Zoo, Sea Life Park and the Bernice P. Bishop Museum are just a few of the most popular tourist attractions in the island. Oahu also has a number of accessible beaches with white sand. The largest beach is Waimanalo and the most famous is Waikiki Beach. Oahu’s good weather makes it a perfect place for golfing, which is one of the biggest sporting activities in Hawaii.

Oahu has several ethnic communities with unique traditions and beliefs, yet these diverse cultures have blended to form a local culture on the island. Each year there are numerous festivals held here, including the Honolulu Festival, Lei Day, King Kamehameha Day Floral Parade, Aloha Festivals, Hawaii International Film Festival and Chinese New Year.

The island’s major industries are tourism, construction/manufacturing and agriculture. There are three airports in the area-the Honolulu International Airport, the Dillingham Airfield and the Kalaeloa Airport.
